Trade turnover between the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2022 almost doubled

Vice-Governor Alexander Ruppel met with Konstantin Zlygostev, the Trade Representative of Russia in Uzbekistan, at the exhibition Innoprom: Central Asia.

«Last year, our enterprises were in Uzbekistan three times and brought several contracts worth 100 million rubles. Yesterday, the Kuban delegation signed two landmark agreements with the Andijan region and its capital, our enterprises build business relations and conclude supply contracts. Uzbekistan is mostly attractive as a textile supplier and importer of our mechanical engineering products,» Ruppel said.

The Vice Governor added that Kuban can also export medical and tourist services, IT solutions, as well as agricultural products and alcoholic beverages.

According to Konstantin Zlygostev, the development of interregional cooperation today is one of the top priorities of cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.

«Russian products are trusted by Uzbek market players and, as they say, have a well-balanced price-quality ratio,» said Konstantin Zlygostev.

In 2022, the foreign trade turnover between the Krasnodar Territory and Uzbekistan almost doubled compared to 2021, but the share of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the total exports of the Krasnodar Territory remains low and opens up space for further growth. Last year, the basic items of exports were oil, animal fat, fat extracted from plant sources, fuel. We imported textiles, vegetables, fruits and nuts.
